Senior Investment Associate, Energy & Infrastructure
To support the full investment lifecycle of VinaCapital’s Energy and Infrastructure platform by assisting in deal sourcing, screening, due diligence, execution, fundraising, and portfolio monitoring across renewables, LNG-to-power, and related infrastructure sectors, while providing high-quality analysis and coordination that enable sound investment decisions and effective management of existing investments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Support deal leaders across the full transaction lifecycle for energy and infrastructure investments including sourcing, evaluating opportunities, conducting preliminary due diligence, structuring, building detailed DCF and project finance models, executing transactions, and contributing to exit planning.
- Act as a key liaison with relevant stakeholders such as prospective investors, project sponsors, lenders, offtakers, etc. and external service providers, including auditors, legal counsel, technical and environmental consultants, market consultants, and other advisors.
- Coordinate technical, environmental, and commercial due diligence in collaboration with engineering, market, legal, and tax advisors, and synthesise findings into clear investment recommendations.
- Prepare high-quality investment proposals and recommendations for the Investment Committee under the guidance of the Investment Director.
- Prepare periodic reports for shareholders and investors.
- Provide day-to-day analytical and operational support to senior investment professionals across investment activities.
- Monitor sector and regulatory developments in Vietnam and the region (e.g., Power Development Plan, DPPA, PPA structures, tariff mechanisms, etc.) and assess implications for pipeline and current investments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least five years of relevant experience in private equity, investment, corporate finance, transaction advisory, or related fields; direct exposure to renewable energy, LNG-to-power, utilities transactions, or digital infrastructure is strongly preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and deliver high-quality output in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong judgment, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Solid understanding of financial statements, investment analysis, and reporting requirements.
- Working knowledge of project finance principles, energy and infrastructure asset valuation, and the commercial economics of renewable energy, conventional power, or transport assets is preferred.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Vietnamese. Chinese language proficiency is a plus, but not mandatory.
