The Investment Manager is responsible for leading investment sourcing, evaluation, and execution activities, while providing strategic and operational support to portfolio companies. The role oversees comprehensive industry and company due diligence, actively contributes to investment decision-making, and works closely with senior stakeholders across investment, operations, legal, and finance functions. As a key contributor across the investment lifecycle, the position plays a critical role in driving portfolio value creation, supporting governance through board engagement, and advancing internal and portfolio-wide strategic initiatives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities through market research, networking, and proactive deal sourcing.
- Conduct comprehensive industry and company due diligence, including market analysis, competitive landscape assessment, and investment risk evaluation.
- Support portfolio companies through board participation and ongoing informal engagement, contributing to strategic discussions and operational improvement initiatives.
- Participate in internal and portfolio-facing project-based assignments, including financial analysis, strategic planning, and value-creation initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with the investment, operations, legal, and finance teams to support transaction execution, portfolio management, and ongoing investment activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance/economics/business or related fields; engineering/business majors are a plus
- Master’s degree with a focus on business or technology is a plus
- Strong and extensive network in Vietnam and other major SEA hubs of entrepreneurship
- Minimum five years of experience working with a venture-backed or industry leading technology company and/or six years’ experience with top consulting, investment banking or venture capital/private equity firm; clients/focus on the venture-backed tech ecosystem are a plus
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
- Strong business and investment acumen
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both VN & EN
- A good team player.
