Mr. Dang Hong Quang is the Director of VinaCapital’s representative office in Hanoi. His primary responsibilities include representing the company and its funds in relation to the government of Vietnam, its ministries, and relevant People’s Committees, supporting the company’s various departments in deal sourcing, negotiation, and licensing processes, and serving on the boards of numerous listed and unlisted companies.

After graduating from Budapest University of Technology in 1985 as an information technology engineer, Quang worked for a research institute under the Ministry of Industry and Trade for three years. In 1989, as the Doi Moi policy began, he was a founding member of an investment and technology transfer consultancy called InvestConsult, which advised foreign investors on doing business in Vietnam with a focus on FDI. During this period, he also earned a second bachelor’s degree in law and became a lawyer with the Hanoi Bar Association.

Not long after Vietnam’s stock exchange started trading, he joined VinaCapital and was deeply involved in attracting foreign institutional investment (FII) into Vietnam. Quang is fluent in English and Hungarian, in addition to Vietnamese.
