In addition to being a co-founder of VinaCapital, Ms Katherine Yip also founded Sanrio Digital, a global partner of Sanrio Japan that works with well-known brands, including Hello Kitty. Ms Yip currently partners with several companies, including Outblaze, a technology company whose messaging division was sold to IBM in 2009; TurnOut, a strategic joint venture for Asia with Time Warner/Turner Broadcasting; Typhoon Games, the global developer, publisher, and distributor of PC games such as Football Manager, Winning, and YS Seven; and Touchmedia, a market-leading taxi media company in China.

Ms Yip has over 20 years of capital markets experience, founding investment companies, taking companies public, overseeing management buy-outs, and mergers and acquisitions. She was educated at Harvard Business School.
